Weeds and the wastage of irrigation water are common problems encountered in gardening. The Garden EZ kit is our first innovative product to address these issues. The GardenEZ kit prevents weed growth without the use of any hazardous chemicals. The drip irrigation system delivers water to the root zone, and open-bottom planters retain and conserve the water. The kit suits gardeners seeking a low-maintenance garden, reduced labor costs, and water conservation capabilities.
Raj Rajasekaran, PhD

Dr. Rajasekaran (Raj) is an internationally recognized scientist in cancer research with a Ph.D. He is also an inventor and an entrepreneur. He has discovered many new technologies for cancer research including new drugs for cancer treatment. He has worked in major universities such as NYU medical center, Weill Cornell medical college, and University of California, Los Angeles. He was the founding director of cancer center at the Alfred I DuPont Hospital for children in Wilmington, DE. He has seen the suffering of thousands of people with cancer. His vision is to prevent cancer rather than treat cancer. Gardening is his favorite hobby, and he spends his leisure time in the garden. As a cancer researcher he was concerned about dumping cancer causing chemicals in the soil to prevent weeds. So, he came up with a solution to prevent weeds without chemicals. He developed the novel weed prevention system “GardenEZ kit” that utilizes a horizontal and a vertical weed barrier. This system also conserves water and nutrients. Realizing the importance of water conservation, he designed the second generation GardenEZ kit 2.0 with a programmable drip irrigation system. He believes that GardenEZ kit 2.0 will enable gardeners to enjoy their garden with much less effort and better yield.

Stephen VanValin graduated from the Longwood Gardens ornamental cultural programs and former employee. He invented The Mulch Fork which is a great ergonomic tool in the garden and is used for mulching. He designed and manufactured the product and established a successful business. Steve has eCommerce expertise as a leader with QVC for over 17 years. He will be an advisor in the Weed Free Gardening LLC and will help with the manufacturing and marketing of the GardenEZ kit 2.0.
